I have just moved into a new house that has a Worcester Bosch Greenstar R35 combi boiler.

There is no thermostat at present and I wanted to wire in my British Gas Hive

The boiler manual and hive manual state that only the Worcester TR2 can be used on this boiler.

Does anyone have a workaround?

It is possible - I fitted a Nest to one of these boilers last week. From memory, on block 328, link N to Ns, Ls to Common on Hive and LR to the Hive switched live. You need to remove and discard the link between Ls and LR if present. Then set the programmer in the text display to constant on and you should be away

I think muggles has his boilers mixed up, there is a work around but its not a simple fix, do you have a tr2 fitted?

No. Don't have a tr2 fitted at the minute. Just running on timer and thermostatic valves

I think the problem was if you wired any other stat to the lr\ls connections the pump ran constantly.

Yes, I found that initially...I didn't wire N to Ns and ended up with a constant pump and no heating. Making the link seemed to cure it - I've not had any complaints since anyway

Thanks

Just To clarify, would this be correct? Pick up permanent live and neutral off boiler, add link between N & Ns and remove link between L & Ls

then connect to hive as you stated

I don't need to do anything with the existing TR2 connection block (3, 4 & F)?

Hi

did you by any chance have a look at the diagram I posted?

Thanks

Looks good to me, just double check which of Ls and LR are permanent live (Common) before you start. You'll need a multimeter for that...

NS is neutral send which is already connected internally, LS is live send and LR is live return aka switched live, I will be very surprised if your boiler works properly as this is a well known problem, please let us know how it goes.
