Hi all

I have an old workshop with a roof that i need advice on WITHOUT replacing, as the cost is too much to justify.

10m x 5m
2 A truces
1 purlin
3x2 rafters 16” centres (not cut to purlin)
Slate covering
Building circa 1900, and all walls all over the shop

After years of neglect from the previous owner the nails on the ridge have rotten out and some rafters have dropped until pinched on the ridge causing dips in the roof. (Ridge 100% straight with tiles still cemented together

There are signs of wall pushing out, but front rebuild straight, rear ideally wants doing at some point.

Internally the underside of the rafters is covered in ply, so limited viewing and ideally as little disruption as possible needed

Opinions to improve ridge before reseating tiles?

1-Jack up rafter over time individually and add hangers
2- Jack up section on 4x2 cut to pitch and connect to ridge and hanger each rafter (if needed)
3-Add extra purlin to a frame and push up as high as possible towards ridge and secure
4- option 3, then 4

Any orher ideas?

Would collar ties be worthwhile retrofit?

The idea is to make better than is and more secure. I currently have added fixings at purlin height to ensure stays fixed whilst work is completed (and after)
