wps extension

I am running MS Office using windows xp.
I have been sent an email with an antachment file with .wps extension.
I am assume is a Microsoft works extension.
When I try to open this I get an error message ' MSWORD6', application error.
Is it possible to open this with MS Works?

Thanks Igor, went there after my posting, then got redirected, eventually downloaded. It opens the file without an error message, but its not readable.
Its only a job application, so I have replied to the sender & told them to resend the CV telling them how to do it so its readable. If they manage that, they might get an interview.
