Hello friends.

Recently I installed the HSA6400 for a customer and everything went great. He recorded the message we did a test call on both the numbers and they both dialled out.

However the customer decided to do an alarm test and said when the dialler dials out it only calls one number and not the second one even if he does not press 9 to end the call and hangs up without it.

Has anyone had this issue before or can anyone help?

Regards

Bob

The system appears to wait 30 seconds before releasing the phone line if the called person does not ( or cannot ) terminate the call.
• The call can be terminated by the recipient pressing “9”
on the phone or by pressing the P key on the unit.
• If the call is being made to a mobile or DECT radio phone,
press “9” repeatedly to cancel the call.

It is not clear whether a Test Call will call the second number if the first number does not reply

An alarm call ( triggered by a sensor when the system is armed ) should call the second number if the call to the first number is not answered. It is not clear how to he panel determines that the call has been answered by a person able act on the fact that the alarm has been triggered.

on the test call you test each number individually. It is just when the alarm is triggered it calls one number and not the second. But the instructions says it's determined by pressing 9 or 0 if the customer does not acknowledge the call then it should call the second number. It's just confused everyone and even Yale support do not know what to do

A very basic telephone unit ( autodialler ) should dial the number and wait for a known response from a numan being who answers the call and on hearing the alarm announcement enters a PIN. If the telephone unit does not receive that PIN within an allotted time it should terminate the call and then dial the second number.

A very basic dialler will work reasonably well over a BT land line to other land line phones. Other phone systems may not be handled properly by a very basic telephone unit.

Calls to mobiles and calls to redirected numbers can be problematic due to delays before any superviory tone ( ring, busy NU ) is returned to the calling unit.

A basic telephone unit may try and make a call in the phone line is busy. An improvement is for the unit to check 1) the telephone line is connected with 50 volts on the line and 2) that there is a dial tone before starting to dial.

Thank you I will check the volts and both numbers are going to mobile numbers
