Hi,

My Yale HSA6400 system has been installed for around 6 months and working fine. The last couple of weeks the siren has been sounding when the system is not armed. It then will not disarm when our code is entered. There is a slight 0.5 second break once the unarming code is entered but then it continured - the solution is unkown at the moment, we just have to keep entering the code over and over, opening the doors with sensors and then closing them until it finally accepts and unarms the system. Its becoming very annoying for us and no doubt the neighbours. Does anyone have any advise/solutions? The sounder is fixed securley via raw plugs to the external wall so it shouldnt be the tamper switch. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

My alarm regularly sounds during the night, but there are no messages shown on the control panel. What is the reason for this?
This problem is usually caused by poor positioning of the external siren and will be exacerbated during bad weather, for example during periods of high winds and storms. Please place suitable waterproof packaging behind the tamper lever, also ensuring the siren cover is firmly screwed into place. If the problem persists it is also recommended to disable the radio interference detection.

The reference to disabling the radio interference detection is far more important than it appears . If the radio channel is blocked by transmissions from other equipment then the system cannot sound the siren as communication with the siren is impossible. The only way the siren can alert that it is effectively disconnected from the panel is by sounding the siren.

If you disable the radio interference detection and the radio channel is maliciously blocked then then a break in will not trigger the siren.
