A common, versatile product that is made by high pressure forcing softwood pulp into sheets. The standard hardboard sheet is finished on one side and has a textured underside, and is available in various finishes and thicknesses, the most common being 3.2mm.
There are other types of hardboard available including duo faced, medium, oil-tempered, painted, perforated (commonly known as pegboard) and plastic faced.
The boards should be stored flat and care should be taken to keep the sides and corners protected.
