Hi
I'm am looking to replace my kitchen doors, drawers, end panels and kickboards with 18mm birch plywood.
What is the best way to remove the end panels particularly where they are situated either side of the oven. I believe they are secured with screws inside the cabinets but I can't imagine...
Hi Everyone,
This forum has been invaluable to me the last few weeks and I really appreciate all of the help I’ve been given regarding a variety of issues.
We had a kitchen fitting with B&Q that has been plagued with issues for the get go. It’s now over four months since the fitting started...
Hi,
Hoping someone can help with this.
I’ve just had a wooden worktop fitted by B&Q and after it has been oiled, I’ve notice a knot (hole) in the surface.
The fitter has said it’s really common and just to leave it. Does it need filled? Should it be there in the first place?
Thanks
Hoping someone can help with their opinion on this.
We have had endless issues with B&Q appointed fitters. We initially had fitters that had been chucked off the job (by B&Q) because they didn’t know what they were doing - they had fitted cupboard units to the back wall. We were then given new...
Hoping someone can help.
I recently had a B&Q kitchen installed (by their fitters) and there is a fairly sizeable gap between the hob and wooden worktop (image attached).
The fitters have said they can’t get the hob any tighter but to me the gap seems too big. Could anyone please advise if a...
I have a problem with the Mixer Tap in my Kitchen. The Cold Tap seems to be slipping and won't turn off with a single turn.
Is this just a washer that needs replacing or do I need a whole new tap?
If its just a washer how do I open the tap? I have done this years ago but forgot what I did lol...
Strange one this (am I in the right forum?). I've got an integrated fridge/freezer in my kitchen, in a housing (some kind of bog standard chipboard thing from B&Q). Wall on one side and other kitchen cabinets on the other.
A few days ago the housing - on the side attached to the wall -...
Evening all.
Just wondering if anyone can give me an idea what these pipes may be, please:
House built c1905. Concrete floor (rest of the house has floorboards).
These are within a kitchen cupboard that is against the party wall, roughly opposite the original kitchen back-door.
The...
Looking for some advice - having my kitchen redone and the b and q plan shows this cut of the worktop. The sink is as shown. The fitter didn’t look at the sink until after they cut the worktop and then told me I can’t have my sink (or any sink more than 780mm). I can’t find any standard bowl...
Hi,
I’m wondering what the best course of action is for running my waste from my new kitchen location.
I’ll add a photo so it makes more sense but my waste and everything is on the right hand side and I’m moving my kitchen to the party wall side but I need waste for the kitchen sink and the...
Hi,
New here.
Need some advice on a project I’m working on. Iv had a 5meter RSJ put in across the back of my house. I have some bifolds ready to go in for now but In 6-8 months time I am having an extension. When I do the bifolds will move to the new extension.
The problem is the RSJ...
Dear Forum Members,
I am planning to install additional MDF shelves on top of the existing kitchen cabinets, and I have noticed that my ceiling is uneven:
The existing cabinet is installed correctly - I've checked the top of it with spirit level meter. Therefore I 'blame' the ceiling.
I've...
What would be the best way to repair the gap between a double socket and fuse socket the plaster has fallen out.
I'm sure I repaired it before using ronseal ready mixed filler, but the gaps quite large and I had trouble getting the filler to stay in line between the plugs.
I've got some...
I'm looking to support my breakfast bar and was thinking that these are a great idea https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/218510776/t-brace-countertop-support-bracket?variation0=568125073 but I can't find anywhere in the UK that stocks them and they are pretty expensive. Anyone know of an alternative?
Hi
We are renovating a small bedsit and the kitchen wires are all exposed and a bit of a maze. I have traced most them them.
However, the once circled in red comes from upstairs into a black junction box and back the same way upstairs. What is even more confusing is it is wired up with the...
I’ve just moved into a rented flat where the previous tenants have done quite a bit of damage. There are three holes/chips in the worktop next to the hob (see picture). Any idea how I can make these seem less noticeable please? I’m not very experienced with DIY so a less effective solution...
Hi,
We’ve just had a new kitchen installed, but aren’t sure the best route forward in terms of beading. This has been our first project so we have unfortunately learnt a lot of things too late. We ended up getting the flooring (laminate) put in after the kitchen was fitted, but the fitter has...
Need some help in identifying the colour silicone we've got in our kitchen.
Long story short Mrs wanted to use dc fix then changed her mind after I'd taken off the silicone in preparation
We thought it was brown but when we looked in wickes brown was too dark.
Could it be buff...
I am planning to build alcove shelving and a couple of cabinets in my lounge. I am OK with doing the shelves, as well as fitting the cabinets. However, I would like to have the units with doors done neatly which I doubt I can do myself with basic tools.
Any advice on where to get bespoke units...
I got this far…
i think the number inside is k937a01
But Google didn’t offer much help.
There’s no other screws, bolts or pieces of gum holding it on that I can find.
I’ve tried pulling on it, tapping it with a hammer and asking it nicely.
But this thing just won’t come off.
No brand on the...
