Hi all,
Most of the light switches in the house where there is more than one switch operate not how you would expect, as in the switch nearest to the light should control it so I started to fix these yesterday.
The utility has a pair of switches. Unfortunately I got distracted when changing...
Hi everyone,
I can't believe my first post in this forum is asking for help to change a lightbulb, but it is so. I have recently moved into a new house and I've never had bathroom light fittings like these ones. I have tried twisting and pushing up (the outer ring turns but clicks in a way...
I know this has been posted before, but in some old threads... and some of my questions aren't in there so I'll start a new one rather than try to resurrect them.
I'm hoping to make an LED 'Hollywood Style' mirror for the other half. Making the unit itself I am fine with and I know it'll look...
In the process of doing up the house (3 bed, terraced) from top to bottom in stages (whilst living in it) - just had a new kitchen/dining room extension done which included new wiring and consumer unit - however the rest of the house (downstairs/upstairs lights and sockets) minus these rooms...
Hi I have wall lights in my lounge on seperate switches. In the room next door we had a chandelier light which was ripped from the ceiling accidently exposing lots of wires. The new light was installed in this room however there was one wire left. It appears this was from the wall lights as...
At the health club I go to (the same one with the odd looking IP CAM), outside the main entrance what backs on to a main road, there is this electrical mess.
I am wondering if it is still live and being used to turn on the surrounding bollard/sign lights at dusk, or whether it has been left...
Just had to replace the 2nd LEDlite Downlight in my bathroom as it failed today. Was the one above my shower what failed. Only been in for just under 4 years!
Anyone else had issues with this product failing?

Hi there,
Needing some help here with my HotPoint washer/dryer WDL520:
It goes through the wash cycle till it reaches the drain/spin cycles, when it starts to flash all the lower buttons and the start/stop button.
I have gone onto check the pcb see if any capacitor is not working but they all...
The 'housing' of one of the spotlights on ceiling cannot be twisted to remove so that I can take out and replace bulb. It seems like its stuck from a previous painting job. Any ideas what I can do to loosen it please? Pic attached, but its not too helpful as I can't really get it to show that...
Hi
I'm hoping someone could help. I have a horse menage (school) with lighting issues.
The school lighting only seem to work when it's rained but not when it's frosty or dry.
I'm far from knowledgeable but this seems like a bad connection to me.
I noticed that the earth wire and the clamps...
I have a 12v AC cable/track light set with 4 x 50w halogen bulbs in parallel. The transformer recently failed so I purchased a new one which is rated at 0-210W which I thought was high enough to cope with the load. The transformer I purchased is a Varilight electronic transformer YT210Z...
Hi all,
Just moved into a house with an old dimmer switch in it, that requires a BS646 3A fuse to work. The fuse has gone, so was thinking I'd just put in a modern 1G1W switch. The front of the existing dimmer looks like this.
The wiring at the back (this house has the old UK wiring...
Hi,
I want to put 3 up/down lights *HERE* at the front of my house (middle and one at each side at eye height), more for decorative effect than anything else. I have uploaded a picture of the front of the house (attached pic of house) if needed.
My problem/dilemma is that there is no electric...
Has anyone else noticed that a lot of multi coloured multi function Christmas lights made in the last few years have the the colours of Blue & Red and Green and Orange tied together. In other words there is 2 not 4 channels from the controller.
i.e. A lot of lights these days don't seem have...
