Hi all,
Just moved into a new place and inspected the roof, which looks quite tired in this section. Anyone any ideas how long this will hold out and whether it’s a case of having to replace the whole roof ?
Thanks
Hi,
We have an Edwardian orangery (walled both sides) and a double-glazed roof (4.5m x 3m).
We have been looking at a roof replacement as a DIY job but we are way out of our depth!
Can anyone suggest the cost we would be looking at for the following instead?
Supalite roof installation...
Hi all

We are missing some flat coping stones from the parapet wall, as seen in this picture: https://imgur.com/a/kIEcmf9.
I've tried a few reclamation yards around us (East London), and none of them have them, nor seem like they would ever get them
How would you replace these?

Hi
I'm looking to split one large bedroom into two.
It will require a new entrance doorway knocking through on the landing.
The wall is a supporting wall.
As it is upstairs there is only three or four courses of bricks above where the doorway will be.
However when checking in the loft there is...
Hi
hopefully someone with roofing experience could advise me and my wife if the roof contractor has done a good job on our roof.
We had our entire roof replaced recently (which was quite a shock as we were not expecting the roof to be that bad)
The roofing company managed to strip the roof...
Hi - woodburner - stainless pipe through roof via lead flashing - has storm collar - ok for several years now (after some external sealing with grey lead sealant) though now leaking a bit in intense rain between the double wall pipe and the lead tube. (suspect through rain bouncing off roof...
My Mums house has a little lean-to with a Poly-carbonate roof which had a Flashing Tape seal.
We hired a roofer to fit Lead flashing, this is the result, it's obviously messy, but I'm not sure it's even chased into the wall properly, the pitched part isn't stepped in, and there's a hole at one...
Hi All,
Recently added a new single storey extension with a gable style roof that abuts the existing house wall.
I took a gamble, and decided to have a stab at doing the step and cover flashing myself. I knew it was a risk. Now hlat the point of boarding it out, however I decided to do one...
We have a garage that has a trussed roof that I want to install a plasterboard ceiling. We have to double board it to meet Building Control approval. To allow edges of the plasterboard to be supported I need to add noggins between the roof trusses, (trusses are at 500mm spacing).
Am I...
I'm rebuilding a flat roofed garage and am wondering what the point in fascia boards are here because the rafters don't overhang the wall, instead they finish flush with the edge of the wall. Is there any reason I shouldn't clad right up to the roof line?
A rubber roof will be installed with a...
We had a full width dormer extension built earlier this year which has dark grey cladding and a flat rubber roof. On warm sunny mornings there's lots of cracking noises as something expands. It responds very quickly to the sun coming out and the will be a cracking noise every few seconds a...
Hi,
Looking for options for covering a service passageway that runs between house and our neighbours - it is a dead end. Passageway is currently open (no roof) so rain can get in but there is little light /ventilation to dry it out.
Passage is:

1.3m wide
Surrounded on both sides and...
Hi
I've been reading about how you can attach foil breather membrane to the underside of rafters in the loft space as a way of cooling the loft space in sunny weather, and therefore hopefully cooling the house a bit. This is known as a radiant barrier and basically works by reflecting the heat...
