We live on a fairly busy road, technically 20mph but everyone does at least 30mph. There is a constant stream of traffic until fairly late in the evening and queues during morning and evening rush hours. Motorbikes go up and down late at night. No lorries or buses normally though due to narrow...
Hello , had the cover off the other month and saw this gap around the boiler flue duct. Just wondering what should be around it as it doesn't look correct?
Should there be a gasket around it?
Boiler is an Ideal W2000
Thanks in advance

I have just had a bathroom installed. Things have gone well, except for a leak which has recurred for the 3rd time. I'm getting concerned that they are trying to cover up a more serious problem. What would you think based on the following?
Dripping reported from downstairs flat (below my...
Will be installing a new quadrant shower tray and bath soon.
Thought I would add an edge seal to the tray and bath before installing and tiling. After a bit of research I found this product https://aquastrap.com.
Seems perfect for the job but not found any first hand comments about it other...
Struggling up here, I'm trying to attach a light to an exterior wall that has a rendered surface (a 'Harled wall' ) the back of the light is a flat surface but the wall surface is like the Himalayas (relatively). I don't want to bash away at the render so is there anything that can close the...

There are three roller cans on my back door — bottom, middle and top. The top and middle pull the door into the frame tightly and there is a good seal. Unfortunately there is a gap at the bottom and I can quite easily push or pull (from outside) the...
Could somebody tell me how to remove the plastic circlip and rubber washer from a leaking flush pipe connection at the bottom of a Geberit low height concealed cistern? Also is it possible to do this with the cistern and WC in situ?
Hi all,
I'm wanting some advice about a lean to off my house I'd like to seal off.
We bought an 1880's cottage last year that, like all cottages, is fairly small and tight for space.
We have a wonderful South Facing garden that I've really enjoyed growing food in, and I'm trying to make it...

I have ordered some new oak veneer doors for my house revamp and have the fitters coming in soon to fit the handles/latches and hinge to the frames.

Any one got any good tips on the steps I should take to do this?
Much appreciated
Hi,
We've just had some new double glazing windows fitted and they look great. They have sealed the left, top and right of the windows with brown sealant but, under the upvc window sill, if you get your head down there and look up, there's a bout a 2-3 mm gap between the bottom of the sill and...
The Door seal is coming off my Homark Conventional Oven. I think its the brown 01-711000 A Model.
The seal looks ok its just the glue that holds it on that has worn with the years.
Any idea what i could glue it back on with?
Would Thermal Paste for a PC work for example?
Thanks :)
I apologise if these sound silly questions, but I would love some advice on making threaded fittings weep-proof.
I have 1/2" Danfoss Randall RA-G Single Pipe TRV Body which comes with a fitting which screws onto the 1" OD outlet of the TRV and screws into the radiator. (see...
I've built my shed with stud walls made from 2 by 4. I've clad the exterior with boards recovered from palettes, horizontally. Each board, I've routed a lip so they each overlap.
Problem is, some boards have knot holes or gaps between boards due to damage.
I'm wondering what is the best way...
I am currently re-tiling our bathroom and will be fitting a new bath in the next few days.
What is the current 'best practice' for installing a reliable seal around the bath?
The old tiles had quadrant sections where they met the bath, which had worked remarkably well for around thirty years...
Not sure it this is the best place to post this.
I have moved into a 10 year old and the bath seal is failing and leaking. I've tried a temporary fix of applying a thin bead of silicone not ideal but it's still leaking. I don't like these bath seals but I don't want to removed any tiles as the...
