Best way to route pipes for shower tray

I’ve removed my bathtub and currently have the hot and cold water pipes coming out of the floor. I’m planning to install a shower tray and a thermostatic shower. However, I’m unsure what to do with the exposed pipes. Should I cut into the floor and move the pipes behind the wall, or would it be...

Shower Diverter Valve Broken, What part do I need?

Hi, Recently our shower broke. A small threaded valve(?) had completely disintegrated when I went to tighten it after I noticed it was leaking. I'm trying to find a replacement part but I'm not sure exactly what I need. From what I've been able to look at, I think I need something like a...

Shower High Pressured Initially Then Slows Down

I have a water tank and boiler linked to 3 showers. When turning on the shower the pressure is great for roughly 10 seconds then it slows down, it's not terrible but I'd like to keep that initial pressure if possible? Is this set somewhere on the system or perhaps just a limitation?

    Removing bathtub

Hello, I'm currently renovating my house and we've reached the bathroom stage. We've had several plumbers come by to quote for removing the bathtub and installing a thermostatic shower. Unfortunately, none of them have followed through with quotes or showed up for the job. Given the situation...

What kind of shower do I need to replace this with?

Hi all, Apologies for my limited knowledge! I've moved into a house that has this shower (see pic). I believe the cold water comes from loft tank, and hot water from hot water tank in airing cupboard next to bathroom, with a pump. Is this shower a power shower and can I just replace this...

Aqualisa Logic Module Leaking + No Hot Water

I have an odd issue with my Aqualisa shower system. I’m not sure which system this is but I’m attaching photos of the Logic Module. This morning the shower wouldn’t turn on and the only way for me to get it to work was to turn off and then back on the logic module in the loft. Later on, my wife...

Shower mixer tap often becomes cold, but hot water comes out of all the taps

I have a combi boiler working fine for central heating and hot water to all upstairs and downstairs taps. The shower uses what I think is a Mira mixer tap maybe 15 years old, running from the boiler and mains cold. Since I've lived here (10 years) the shower has taken about 90 seconds to come up...

    Crumbling brick/plasterboard behind leaking shower

Hi Recently our bathroom shower has been leaking water into the hallway below (just a tiny bit of water randomly not everytime we shower). This happened over a year ago and we had a guy redo the sealant and it stopped. Today I finally got round to redoing the sealant. But as I started to remove...

Rigid riser to bath shower mixer tap

Hello, I'm wondering if I bought this bath shower mixer tap, does anyone know if I'd be able remove the cradle and shower hose, and connect a rigid riser into the top. How universal are they? I have the taps that match this one on my sink, and would like to have the matching mixer tap for my...

Hi all So I noticed a leak in my en suite, and upon removing the sink unit that was up against the wall/shower glass (poor design), it uncovered a lot of wet and a mass of absolute bodge by whoever fitted it. Damp? In the bathroom

I’m not sure what is causing this issue. There is what seems to be damp to the side of the tiles above the door frame in the bathroom. I’ve taken part of the plasterboard off each side and even been in the loft above to find any signs of water, but nothing! It’s dry every time. I’ve painted...

Shower screen sealant tips to avoid mould?

I had a walk-in shower installed just under a year ago and the sealant on the outside of the shower screen has gone mouldy. In fact, it started going mouldy some months ago, which seems a bit quick to spoil. The mould is behind/inside the sealant and is along the whole of the screen. The tiler...
