How come you say it better than me?I think it’s time for a photo of the general layout. And a pic of the switch wiring.
Agreed, will provide shortlyI think it’s time for a photo of the general layout. And a pic of the switch wiring.
It’s a skill. How come you say it better than me?
When you say no need for a junction box, do you mean I can wire them into the same plug? The idea of the junction box was to split the flex from the single plug out and then have one cable to each side of the bed with a socket for each. The socket I want to use to feed these is in the middle of the bed behind the headboard with one currently feeding a light on each side in the exact same configuration as I want for the sockets.
I'll probably get shouted down for this but if the lights have permanent power running to them, can you not use that for the sockets too?
Exactly what I'm after! Thank you!View attachment 278046
0.75mm² flex, 5A fuses, no junction boxes
Quite. I think I'll probably use 1.25 to be on the safe sideWouldn't it be better to use 1.25mm cable fused at 13A?
It strikes me that it'll only be a mater of time before someone uses one of these sockets for a hairdryer.
You could also utilise some sockets with built in USB chargers; having one on a switched plug would get over some people's concerns about their continuous power usage!Exactly what I'm after! Thank you!
