Thank you, I will inspect it on the bench at the weekend and look at doing this. I do want to give it a go to maintain originality and just for the achievement factor.

Thanks for that, I do actually have them as part of the refurb kit I mentioned earlier, but it's good to know they're available on their own -- might prove useful should I successfully replace them and want to overhaul the spare pumps I have as well.

Im not a fan of glass fuel bowls in engine bays, i think id try and upgrade it if i could
I know they have been around for years but it still scares me.

Except BL, and Volvo, who used electric pumps..

Quite a few BL cars used mechanical pumps. Marina's/Ital's, Heralds, Maestros and quite a few others.

As did the Scimitar GTE with the Essex V6 lump.
The engine bay got so hot the fuel would vaporise in the fuel pump and cause an air lock.
Electric pump conversion was the way to go on these.

You could fit an electric pump, you can get blanking plates and gaskets to blank off the hole in the crankcase.
