Banging Noises In House

I know the last post was a while ago but did you find out what the problem was? Very intrigued!!

Why not try turning the water off for one night (and release the pressure from all taps and toilets), the boiler off for another and the electrics off for yet another? That may at least pinpoint it down to one of those three systems.

Bit of an update.
It may well be my neighbours as it seemed to have started when they moved in around May.
Considering the house is new (12 months old now) and floor construction is 150mm PIR floor insulation ontop of concrete floor beams running parallel with neighbour, and all floor joists on timber hangers so no joists run between both houses, it's a bit concerning to still hear impact noises such as the neighbours simply walking around. It's like they're in my own home. All internal walls are timber stud so that doesn't help much. But the party wall is 100mm block, 100mm insulation and another 100mm block. But it's not like I can ask the neighbours to walk softly!

I had a brake squeal on a Freelander we had. I cleaned and lubed the front pads several times, fitted new pads, cleaned and lubed them several times, then fitted new discs and pads, cleaned and lubed them and still couldn’t get rid of the bloody squeal. I was driving it one day and it squealed again while Mrs Mottie was in the car. "I'm getting ****ing sick of that squeal" I said to her and told her all the work I had done. "That noise is coming from the back you deaf old git" she said. It was too!
