Best TV Brand?

In the video, it looks like you can't actually get the space back. If you turn the ads off it seems to use some sort of static placeholder instead. But in the video, as you scroll down, it disappears because it stays at the top, if that makes sense.

The problem lots of people seem to be complaining most about is that adverts, when playing, are distratcing and noisy. So turning them off art least solves that. If I have understood the video!

This seems to be what you end up with if you turn it off.

Until this thread, I had never even noticed it! I rarely use the home button so it’s not a problem for me.

A neighbour reckoned his TV was worth a look at.

It's an LG 55UT91006LA.

But I can't find any reviews of it.

Similarly the LG US60T soundbar.

Anyone got one of these?

TV is the latest 2024 and probably premium price at the moment as a result
https://www.t3.com/features/lg-tv-range-2024-from-oled-to-qled-to-lcd-which-model-is-best-for-you It is their most basic screen technology LCD with a smidge of local dimming.

Until you go and get (Richer Sounds or a similar outfit) to set that TV up against an OLED in their demo room you'll never tell if you (and any significant others) can appreciate the differences and whether the price suits!

BTW what did you think of the neighbours TV pictures when you saw it?

Cheers, Rodders.

I haven't seen the TV, either the neighbour's or one at RS, but I intend to do just that. I rang them this morning and I just have to ring round to check they have both models I'm looking at (this one and a C3) in store before I call in.

Went to RS and saw the C3, C4 and the UT91.

Decided two things:

55 is too big, and a grand is too much to pay, when I can't even appreciate the difference in the picture.

So will be getting a 50" set.

Not sure which one yet.

Edit:

Did watch a TV with a soundbar attached and it made speech much clearer for me, so I will be going for one of those.

Having bought a hisense 55u7k as a cheap mini led for a small snug to watch footie on I would have a look at that, beats our sony OLED that cost 3 times as much.
