Can Kamala Harris win?

Project 2025 is basically the official Republican manifesto.
Not really more of a maybe. Go back to when Trump won the same group pointed out that they had "predicted" his policies. No info on how many others they came up with that were not used.

2025 is rather radical in some areas such as increased Presidential powers and replacing their entire civil service with political appointees. FBI aspects and religion etc. Some Trump advisors involved in producing the entire thing.

Trump has reason to distance himself from it and it's an obvious thing for the democrats to attack. Some feel that some of the plot would face a legal challenge and loose.

LOL Only way to know with Trump is when he is in power. Actual noises he makes at the moment are extremely similar to the last time he won.

The Tory like talking to US right wing think tanks. No idea which ones. An ERG man got a nice civil service place - any others - pass. Something I recollect hearing in the news. Also one MP keeping his job if he got rid of his usual advisors and replaced them. He wouldn't so lost the job.

I can see why RWR would support the 2025 Project
  • Stopping cybersecurity efforts to combat mis- and disinformation. The document recommends the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to stop its efforts to curtail online propaganda campaigns, arguing the federal government should not make judgment calls on what's true and what isn't.

replacing their entire civil service with political appointees.

That is the move of dictators, not democracies.

I wonder how long it would take until all public servants would have to be members of "The Party".

And having the federal police under the direct control of the President sounds rather scary.

What is the objection to an independent civil service when by definition they can only work within the law. Project 2025 if anything understates trumpys intentions.

This is what happens when you make abortion illegal:

A woman who had IVF had the baby die at 18 weeks

She wasn’t allowed to have an abortion until she was suffering life threatening sepsis……people who,are anti abortion claim they want to protect lives.

Harris has closed the gap with Trump both nationwide and in key battleground states since becoming the de-facto Democratic nominee following President Joe Biden’s exit from the 2024 presidential race, according to a series of polls published on Tuesday. Harris is ahead of Trump in four key battleground states, while the former president is ahead in two, according to a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll of registered voters.

Harris leads Trump in Michigan by 11 percentage points and by two points in Arizona, Wisconsin and Nevada, according to the poll. Trump has a four-point advantage in Pennsylvania and a two-point lead in North Carolina, while the pair are tied in Georgia. Apart from Michigan and Pennsylvania, all of the results are within the margin of error. If the outcome of the poll was replicated on election day, the candidate who won Georgia would be elected president.

In a poll commissioned by the Democratic super PAC Progress Action Fund, Harris leads Trump 48 percent to 47 percent in Georgia, with Trump ahead by two points in Arizona and Pennsylvania. In a nationwide Reuters/Ipsos poll, Harris leads Trump 43 percent to 42 percent, which is within the margin of error.

Al Jazz

Doesn't Trump have a court case in Georgia regarding his attempt to find 11,000 votesto win the state during the last election? Will be fun to see it play out in the run-up to this one, which increasingly looks like it'll be "too close to call" on election night.
