Comparison of quality between sheds/screwfix and dedicated merchants?

My Screwfix Erbaur rattle gun (£60) has been hammered for the last 5 or 6 years and is stll a joy to use. Only 1 battery but it does a 4 hr shift nicely & recharge on break. Far more powerful and better battery life than the DeWalt stuff one of my employers swears by.
Well that's good - it doesn't mean that the quality is not any good from ScrewFix it more means that possibly the same brand from another specialist outlet is better quality

cheaper than the identical model you see at John Lewis or PC World but you'll find one or two digits different in the product code

You mistakenly used John Lewis and PC World as being on par with each other :) I certainly wouldn't put PC Worlds PC's on the same platform

I've heard this being said by painters in regards to the quality of paint between trade and what you buy off the shelves in a DIY store... whether it's Dulux, Crown, etc.
