You could easily have meant death penalty for minor offences.

Throwing an insult out and you call others stupid.

Try making yourself clearer so you get an accurate response

Honestly, I had this conversation with a friend only a few weeks ago. What do you think the result would be if there was a referendum on the death penalty. It'd be law tomorrow unless the wishy washies stalked the process like they did with Brexit.

If there was a referendum tomorrow, the politicians would ignore the result and do as they think fit, as is their right.
It's a pity they didn't do that with Brexit.
