Does a tumble dryer require its own socket?

a factor of insulating plugtoptop (sic) pins must make some difference to heat loss due in part to the insulation itself and also the reduction of CSA of the pin conducting mass.
The pins on a BS 1363 plug are 4 mm (0.16") thick and 6.35 mm (0.25") wide.
If the thickness of the half-insulation on a BS 1363 plug is 0.6 mm in total thickness (both sides), there would still be 3.4 mm thickness of metal
- at least 80 %

A 4 mm * 6.35 mm "pin" has a CSA of 28.6 mm²
Reduced to 80%, this is still 22.9 mm² - More than Eight Times greater than any 2.5 mm² conductor which may be "feeding" them
and
almost Six Times greater than a 4 mm² conductor!

Also, all "Conductors" are incased in "insulation".
Hence, if a 2.5 mm² copper conductor encased in insulation is "Good" - for 20 A,
a 22.9 mm² "copper alloy" conductor encased in insulation is "Better".

But it is not just the remaining meat left on compare to the old unsleeved ones of yesteryear but also the heating insulation of it too thereby causing an additional heat retainment in comparison I would think, in free air or in contact with another metal surface the transfer would be a bit better.
Small things do add up together to become bigger things even if not actually big things.

Every action you take in life even if they just improve your chances by an almost imperceptible amount, if there are many of them then can add up to a bit, those bits can sometimes make a difference, when you playing the numbers game then every bit you enhance by however much can make that important difference and if you only get one shot at life it`s perhaps better to make some numbers count a little on your side. Worth a thought anyway.

Us old gits were brung up on sayings such as "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves" and "Good, Better, Best. Never let it Rest. Let the Good be Better and the Better be Best" . We had those and others drummed into us constantly along with some other sayings.

We will live forever! Ohh whoops sorry, I was dreaming that bit
