Joey Barton has lost a libel case this afternoon. It started when he compared two female football commentators to Fred and Rose West. Jeremy Vine challenged him, suggesting he might have a brain injury. So Joey Barton started calling Jeremy Vine "bike nonce" and "pedo defender" on twitter. This seems to be the insult of choice for certain people. Anyway, not surprisingly, it's ended up the same way as the Laurence Fox case.

The radio and TV presenter sued the former footballer for libel and harassment over 14 online posts, including one where he called Mr Vine a 'big bike nonce' and a 'pedo defender' on X, formerly Twitter.

There really are better ways of showing someone up.
