Dyson flame thrower

While using new brushes, the motor just kept blowing fuses. This indicated short circuiting. The following video shows actual fire coming from the commutator, which correlates to what happened to my motor. It's safe to say fire means motor gone. I need a new motor.

Flame throwing YDK motor, as used in dysons, confirmed:

Got myself a qualtex MTR283 sold by qualtex directly from ebay, and the dyson was fixed up in no time. The new motor had no sparks after a test start, and so was a good'n. The packaging was OEM quality. I would rate it a good brand if the motor lasts. In use, I could not tell it being different to the original.

Next motor, I will have more faith for the internet. The resistance measurements was off. It was my first experience of a high speed motor. Wasn't sure it was supposed to have more sparks. Now I have a reference point from the new motor.
