EV are they worth it?

Google is your friend, a Google for percentage internal combustion engine car fire to electric cars got.

EV FireSafe, funded by Australia's Department of Defence, investigated the issue as well. They found that there is a 0.0012 % chance of a passenger electric vehicle battery catching fire. In contrast, the chance of an internal combustion engine vehicle setting on fire is 0.1%.

Oh, and in general ice does not burn, it turns into water, then steam.

Almost all of them, quite probably (y)

"The electric car battery has been designed to withstand the test of time, and whilst manufacturers typically offer warranties of around eight to 10 years and/or 100,000 miles, many EV batteries last twice as long. This is comparable with the lifespan of conventional petrol or diesel cars."

But with greatly reduced range/performance.:idea:

If the ICE has had sensible servicing, it's range and performance should be virtually as new.

EVs are vastly higher performance than any ICE, and plenty can outperform so-called 'supercars' costing millions.

As for range - the same tired old nonsense where a vocal minority try and convince themselves that they simply must have 600+ mile range because that is their daily drive while towing a caravan up a mountain.
