Expanded ULEZ

Supposing everyone goes ULEZ compliant not long after these expensive cameras have been installed, how do you think they can fleece motorists for more money, price per mile?
Yes, that's down the line in a couple of years.
All those minicab drivers using electric cars, paying no congestion charge, no ulez, no road tax, no fuel and clocking 100k miles a year are the prime target of the midget.
They'll be forced out of their job or fiddle the mileage of possible.

It'll be structured so that Fossil fuel cars and vans are always more expensive. Even when Electric vehicles start getting taxed more, ICE will get tax even more.

And this is good.

Aren't Croydon and a few others pushing back against the ULEZ expansion?

Some boroughs have no roads owned by TFL so they can block them, others are also trying to find ways of stopping it happening. The boroughs outside Greater London are also opposed to it, it will move traffic out of London towards them, it will also affect their residents who have to drive into London for work or for other reasons.

How is it good to make politicians richer???
Or are you one of them who thinks that politicians use our money to pay mother nature to have a wash???
What the helll do they do with our money?
They just pocket it, no secret.

Taxes are used to pay for public services. They don't make the politicians richer. Indirectly perhaps if they vote for a pay rise for themselves, but that's a fault of the system that needs to be altered.

One way to be ULEZ compliant - as long as plod don't catch you more than 1:10 uses, you'll be quids in.

I asked in a local forum what would happen if everybody removed their number plates.
The general consensus was that tfl can't do anything and there's no enough police to issue fines to everyone.
Some will be stopped and given a ticket, but after a few days the plod would just give up.
That's what the majority of people think.
However, I personally don't think that many will do this.
We're a bunch of sheep and as unfortunate as it may sound, we should take example from the French sometimes.
