Garage door infra red beams

Tried shorting the motor between the eye symbol and ground and the door stopped and reversed and also emitted a continuous beep so I think you were right specialk, thank you so much for your help.

So to conclude would you agree the following:

Transmitter Motor
NO to Eye symbol
COM to Ground
+ to 12v
- to Ground
 
Sounds about right - If it doesn't work, swap it to the NC.

When the relay operates it will link C and NO. Same as putting the wire short on...

You could save wire by using the ground terminal on the sensor instead of another run from the PCB - run a 3 core rather than 4?
