GB News

GBnews is a loss making right wing propaganda broadcaster

anybody who watches a news channel that has ex Tory MPs interviewing Tory MPs, needs their head examined
I listen and watch GB news. On the whole the channel reflects my views far better than the BBC or SKY. It often gets audiences bigger in number than the BBC or Sky.

eg i watched an section last night discussing the ongoing stabbings in london. As well as the presenter there was former chair of a stop and search monitoring group and a former british transport police officer who'd been stabbed in the chest whilst on duty. The ex BTP officer actually came out and said that the black community in london need to accept that police are going to follow the statistics, and statistically in london you are significantly more likely (i can't remember the quoted number but it was a high percentage) to carry a knife or be the victim of knife crime if your are black. Conseqently, more black people are going to get stopped and searched. The former chair of the stop and search group acknowledged that the black comminuty in london needs to accept that there is a problem. It was a heated discussion with some stuff that sounded like common sense to me being said on both sides and you certainly wouldn't hear that on the BBC

Some of it is garbage though and i don't endorse Laurence Fox's comments or Dan Wooten's response. That kind of chat might be funny in the pub, but not on mainstream TV.

BBC and Sky have a propensity to report truthfully, whereas GBN is following in the footsteps of garbage news outlet Fox.
What is it about lies and bullshìt, that excites you so much?

Sky and BBC will report facts, and then follow up with an extensive analysis of the facts by a left winger or a contrary group of some sort or other with no balance. GB news will report facts and then allows analysis or comment on the facts by a right winger and a left winger. Which one is fairer in its approach?

Saying i get excited about any of the above channels would be an exaggeration though.

I think it's important to pull opinion from all sources, but recognise the political bias. I sometimes find the guardian informative and sometimes GB news, I trust neither's opinion on the matter.

Said a Telegraph reader

do you have evidence of this?

Im sorry but you are stating obvious cognitive bias

I watch BBC and Sky news, the both have “the papers” and always have 2 guests, one from left, one from right

If you want a real discussion, let’s talk about the constant appearance if guests on BBC, ITV, Sky etc who are from libertarian lobby groups like the Institute of Economic Affairs

for online news, I do look at Guardian and Independent because the others are all pay walled - but I find the articles tend to be painfully biased

I read the Telegraph at the weekend, as I often read it around the In laws - it tends to be very biased, but the financial sections, foreign news etc are more sensible.

well apart from Daily Mail and Express which are just full of junk.

sadly GBnews has too many Tory MPs, too many conspiracy theorists, too many right wing populists

I’m not sure I’d agree, I hear both views on BBC

stop and search is a common debate, but it’s not that obvious, increasing stop and search rates can result in less trust so police lose community collaboration.

if police don’t get support of neighbourhoods stop and search won’t win.

crime is related more to poverty than to race

What are you on about?
Quite groundbreaking at the time, quite mild in comparison to what passes for 'entertainment' in these enlightened times.
