Handle on door sagging

I too was going to recommend those.

The OP needs double check that they will work though.

It all depends on the size of the lock cylinders.

To the OP- can you take a photo of the lock side of the door?
They come with cut outs in lock body to allow for thru bolts .

Some do, but not all.

Sometimes those locks use two separate cylinders.

I did try the universal connecting sleeve handle then went to put it in and it hit metal so wouldn't go all the way through :(

I am wondering what my options are now.

Then I can't see what 'metal' would be inside the door, what can you see when you look in through the spindle hole? You might have to drill a hole all the way through the door core. Did you try just slightly longer screws before trying the through bolts?

Take the lock out and photograph it please.

Measure all dimensions including the backset

Here is an example of another bathroom lock. Observe that it has two cutouts for sleeve nut screws at the thumbturn, snd two at the handle. This is quite common.

If yours doesn't, get one that does.

Hence you need accurate measurements.
