They came with a remote control.Unlike the OP's unusual requirement, I would have thought that virtually everyone who wants a dimmer wants to be able to adjust the dimming - how does one achieve that if it's in a ceiling rose?

No, just to make things more fun, I had to get the thinnest fittings I could find to fit beneath the ceiling joists and these were the only ones that would hit the lux levels required (I rounded up...). Just put the floor in and now they’re not too bright so might be leaving as is which is a result.You could get an inline dimmer switch like this, and fit it between the switched live and the fitting? Hell of a bodge though, can't you get lower wattage lamps?
