My comment was (slightly) tongue-in-cheek.

From memory, there have been a number of standard "explanations" / excuses / pithy-shut-downs for anyone asking "why?"

- Millennium bug
- H&S (always a good 'un; especially useful in the early 2000's, when councils and other public bodies didn't like something, but didn't have anything concrete with which to prohibit it)
- GDPR

They have several thousand viewers drawn from a cross section of society who record their viewing habits. More nuanced now because people often watch on catch up or in their own time vis different social media platforms. But the advertisers go after youth audiences because they respond much better to advertising. A bit like older people being more likely to vote brexhit.

I dont think it can be attributed to Farage, despite the Independent and Mirror claiming its the Farage effect.

Clearly he is a divisive figure amongst the general public -but Im not sure how representative it is amongst Im a celeb audience

I dont know what the main demographic is that watches, If its under 25s, well I remember a girl on Love Island thought brexit had something to do with trees....(maybe she was right nobody else knows wat da f**k it was about )

I think people are bored with it.

The girls in my family love or at least loved it. They see the first episode after getting excited thst it was coming back. But that's the only one they have watched.

I'll watch it if it's on just because of Nigel. But I won't turn it on.

Id image people will watch and vote just to put Nigel on trail.

My Dad won't watch strictly come dancing now because he doesn't want to watch 2 men dancing.


When I was unwell I liked to watch Bear Grylls and the desert island . But wasn't so interested watching the Celebrity one.
