Impossible situation

I gave to change some hinges as the windows gave dropped and catch on the keeps. The windows only open about 20mm as the top op the window hits the wall. Because I can t open them more I can't get to all the screws. Anyone got any ideas??

How can a window hit the wall, what sort of window is that?

It's a standard upvc with friction hinges, I tried to add photos but it said the files were too big.

Wrong hinges were used

It must be possible to unscrew them otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to fit them.

I can't see a wall that it's hitting.

Also are you sure they aren't restrictor hinges to stop the window opening fully to stop people walking into it as they walk past?

I know but I can't see how to open them further because they are hitting the frame, the 1st floor windows are the same. I even took the glazing out to see if they had drilled a hole to get to the screw

I wondered that although I cant see the button to release, although images arent too clever

I had a look today and no button, I will take some better pics tomorrow.

Looks like you can loosen the screws, then lift the sash slightly to remove.
