Insulate slate roof

Superfoil products are good. Only the unfamiliar think otherwise.
Tested ? They back up their claims

I am referring to superfoil. Not multi foil generally

I know I've already checked, it has a BBA Cert, LABC approval etc The problem I have is people have a habit of getting something different when they see the price, believe me I've had plenty of arguments on site from someone proclaiming its the same thing. You may be aware of this and a perfectly competant contractor, but I have to deal with all the others.
I WAS referring to multi foils in general, I thought that was pretty clear

Staying out of the superfoil discussion, if you're not reslating then whatever you have now (felt or no felt) is fine
Haha cheers that was my original query.

as for the foils I’ve had a good look around even amazon sell them haha no chance I’d get something like that off there would stick to a proper brand.

Fb yes you did mention multi foils.
You obviously know your stuff. This is quite rare.

Superfoil produce some really useful products.

Amazon... I don't get what that got to do with anything.. you can buy PIR through Amazon and plenty of other products too. All of which can be purchased through builders and roofing merchants maybe they are rubbish too ...?

Use it or not it's of no relevance to me but unless you have used a product to help in a particular situation. Then why poohoo it . That's not for FB

I've just been looking at Actis Tri Iso, they were one of the manufacturers that were making claims without independent testing. However, but without looking at the finer details, they appear to now have certification but it looks like they are now showing additional insulation rather than claiming you only need the single layer. To be fair I've been out the game for the last couple of years.
I think the comment about Amazon is more a warning, there are a lot of silver layered type products out there but they are cheap and nasty for greenhouses, sheds etc, however I have seen them used in loft conversions or at least until I instructed it to be removed.

HI

ROOF IS NOW BATTENED AND HAS BREATHABLE FELT AND BEAUTIFUL NEW NAILS FOR ME NEVER TO SEE. Kept the Original slate as nothing wrong with it. And two velux.

now...

To comply with building regs further what depth kingspan do I need? Total of 270mm?

- for between rafters
- for dwarf wall

thanks again

270mm is the figure you have heard for mineral wool loft insulation, but the foam slabs are about twice as effective so only need to be about half as thick.

I don't know the regulation thicknesx though.

That’s where I’ve got that from then!
cheers mate
