Light switch bodge job help needed

OK I understand that but my experience is on several older rental properties which had been rewired but retained the original imperial boxes [with 4 fixing lugs, 2 each on top&bottom] and the metal clips simply pulled off. Initially I assumed they were adapted car type clips until I found a packet under floorboards.
I changed a couple of BB's on first property but second property didn't want the new decor damaged so drilled and tapped rear of BB to use long screws.
On 3rd or 4th visit I went round and checked the lot.

That's why I mentioned the other types. There is a type that fits right across the box top to bottom in an arc that might suit better if there is nothing to clip to, I'll post a link if I can find it........
 
Problem now solved. I bought a pack of m3.5 x 50mm screws from a local independent shop for 1.99. Threaded one into each of the loose lugs (they can be seen broken off at the base of the back box), held in place behind the two side tabs by a finger. Then kept that in place with a big wodge of Super Tack (generic blu-tac stuff, 49p in Poundstretcher), and slowly screwed them up tight, alternating between the two sides. Worked first time. Switch is now rock solid. Would not have worked without the blu tac.
