These low pitch roofs should have the slates on tantalised battens on counterbattens on membrane on boarding over the rafters.
Whether slates or tiles are you saying pitched roofs at or below 15 degrees don't need tanalised battens on counterbattens on membrane on boarding thoughthey are not slates, boarding, counter battening and as much membrane as you like will not stop the channels blocking
was I saying that Is it wrong to include the word tantalised in a specification, and I think I said membrane not underlayNo ..who these days uses untreated batten? can you even still buy it?
how often do you do a roof without an underlay?
- yes, that's what I saidBoarded then definitely need a counter batten
- of course it won't stop any water getting past the roof finish whether tiles or slates , but the construction I mentioned for low pitch roofs will prevent any water that gets past the roof finish leaking into the building. Now back to the question , Im saying, they are not slates, boarding, counter battening and as much membrane as you like will not stop the channels blocking
- yes, so you agree with what I was saying and I specifically said membrane rather than underlay .If one wants to slate at very low pitches for looks.. then boarding and counter battens but not bog standard membrane.
And what does it have to do with the original query?
and what makes you think I need to copy what others say on here about building constructionDo you want a medal for repeating what has been covered by the experienced posters?
that you were being contrary and argumentative. No ..who these days uses untreated batten? can you even still buy it?
how often do you do a roof without an underlay?
