Any reason for the plinth cut short on the right?
Yeah. That was one of the plinths that I cut too low on the other (shorter) units. I had to lower the oven units slightly to clear the RSJ above so it’s not too low for that so I’m going to join a piece I had left over to finish that off. Again, if we can’t live with the join I’ll get a new plinth.Any reason for the plinth cut short on the right?
Just a few bits to go. A flyover between the wall units either side of the extractor, cornicing and pelmets. Task lighting, think about making an infill panel or possibly a wine rack in the space to the right of the wall units and shelving above the kettle/coffee machine and on the other side, end panels, cornicing, plinth and air vent to the fridge/cookers/larder unit and then finally fix the fridge in permanently, refit the skirting boards and a little bit of woodwork painting plus the inevitable snagging! Then I’ll take a break while Mrs Mottie decides what colour she wants it painted (white is just temporary while she decides!).
looks good - how wide is the table - we have a small dining room, and the table is about 76cm wide x 153cm longNew table and chairs needed
There’s a double pole switched fused spur inside the chimney. That socket you see is connected to the lighting circuit and controlled by a light switch. It’s for the lights under and on top of the cupboards.Mottie, how is the extractor fan powered? I can see a socket above the left cabinet, will you have a lead running across the wall?.

Straight line with a jigsaw is a no no.I can cut a straighter line with a hand saw than I can with a jigsaw!
Sort of. We took our measurements up to Magnet and sat down with the salesman/designer and told him what we wanted. He gave us a few ideas and did a computer mock-up and when we agreed, he came round our house and measured up to make sure it would fit. Ended up with too many end panels (I cut some in half and only used the visible ends) and an appliance door (we were going to have an integrated washing machine but have since changed our mind). We are ordering some more bits so they are taking those back in credit against the other bits.Did you design the kitchen yourself?
