Neither Crucial or Mr Memory mention 8Gb sticks.
The MOBO is 9KPNV. I haven't found anything that says that 8Gb sticks can be used. Perhaps someone has released a custom BIOS that allows the MOBO to see the 8Gb sticks...

Reports 2gb in slots 2 and 5 but all slots have 4gb.When you say not seen, is it seen in the BIOS?
The original ram 2gb sticks have all been replaced with 4gb sticks so not sure what you are asking. What happens if you take the original ram out and put the new ram in the same slots?
Found a ram site which says it can take 8gb sticks , think they simply were not available when it was manufactured .
You can do it because you have a x5000 series processor (it supports 288 GB of memory) if you bring the w3500 or w3600 it only supports 24
I have upgraded the cpu. From the comments in the video that you posted it looks like the 8Gb limit is a function of the processor.
Additionally, someone else that complains about some of their ram not being seen, is advised to re-seat the processor. Might be worth a try.
