No heating on my ideal combi boiler

Have you turned the pre heat off as suggested earlier? With this on and a slightly dripping hot tap you won't get heating. Also, did you top the pressure up ? I think these boilers have the filling loop tap close to an isolating valve on the heating pipes, and sometimes the wrong valve can be closed.

Display on the boiler would still change to C in either of those situations

Have you tried the suggestion I made above in post 26 to try reducing the system pressure.

so, I just bleed 2 radiator to see what would happen, only (gross) water came out, at a constant flow, there was no air.
I managed to reduce the pressure to around 2.5 bars, but unfortunately it made no difference.

I also made sure to turn some of the position on the theromstats to "off" and everything seems to be fine with it: When the mode is set to the "clock" the red light is contant on at times when the radioators are supposed to be on, and flashing red when the radioator are supposed to be off.

Preheat was turned off yeah, but no difference.
As for your other suggestion im not sure I understand what im supposed to do. As I said there about 6 valves under the boiler, and i'm not sure at all what position these are supposed to be on. If the issue is indeed that the wrong valve is off, I dont know hwo to fix it, or where to look up how it's supposed to be.
Although as ianmcd suggested, I guess the boiler should still display a different letter if the heating demand was registered.

I did however managed to reduce the pressure a bit by bleeding the radiators, but this made no difference

Also just as a test, I wanted to make sure the right button ( boiler off / HW / HW + heating / reset) was working fine for all position, not jsute for the "reset" feature.
So I turned it to "boiler off", tried to turn on the hot water tap and nothing happened. Then I moved it to "HW" and immediately the letter "d" for water water demand was dispalyed.
So the button definitley seems to be working fine.

If anyone have anything else to suggest, I'd be happy to try it, otherwise, I might try to get a handyman to come and look at it
Once again, thank you to everyone who took the time to read and post a message.

Please don’t get a handyman to look at it, you would need a gas safe registered engineer if the issue is boiler related.

Needs a gas safe registered engineer now, sounds like the little round receiver on the boiler is faulty, very common, but you need to be gas safe registered to remove and refit the front cover, in order to access it

Update:
There was many issue and i cost me so much money

I struggled a bit to find a technician as all of them were very busy. I ended up finding one though some contact

They guys found a fault between the receiver and the boiler itself, apparnelty they were not compatible and that ended up damaging both components
So that was 200£ to replace the part on the boiler and 60£ to replace the tehromstats and receiver
After that, the pressure kept dropping and so i had to co,tact his again, as he had to replace the exeonsaion vessel, for abother 200£

In the end, including the labour, that cost me around 700£, whihc is so much more than what i was hoping to pay, but at least now it working

Thank you again to everyone who helped me!

Hello.

I bought a flat a few month ago, but I cannot figure out how to get heating.
I have gaz, and the Combi boiler (Ideal logic combi 30) is working for hot water, but not for heating.
The boiler always display "0" which apparenlty means that there is no current demand.

I set up the remote thermosat ( Ideal PRT 2, seems to be the same as here ) to max temperature and on at all time but nothing happens.
I beleive that it is not communicating properly with the boiler. The part of the boiler that is connected to the theromsats is also blinking red

I tried to reset both the boiler and the thermosat wihout any difference.

I also tried phoning up Ideal, but after advising me to turn everything on, they said that they would need to send me a technician for over 230£, and that I would be refuded of half of it if i couldnot fix it... Given how little they tried to help me, that does not seem like a great deal.

I also checked the valves underneath, as advised in this post, but everything seems set up right.

If anyone could help me, that would be much appreciated
How did you get your thermostat off the wall? I have the same one and I don’t know how to take it off the wall!!

Looks like it’s a flat head screw at the top, then the fixings behind after removal of the thermostat. Do you definitely have a wireless type?
