[Barnsbury]

Barnsbury ... thank you for recommending the book The Art Of Racing In The Rain.....that was such an enjoyable read...I must admit at first I really thought I wasn't going to enjoy it but as I got into it ..it was so good....so well written and lots of little phrases so meaningful that I wish I could commit them to memory, I will read it again just to find them.

Brilliant to see life through the dogs eyes...our last GSD had hip dysplasia and had two new hips...I shed more than a tear for her...and it was just so well written ...yes you were right...it did make me cry (a lot).

Very enjoyable, so just a huge thank you from me.

glad you enjoyed it. Didn't think i would like it at first, but stuck with and was glad i did.

Ever so slightly off topic. I have a kindle, and started to read some of the classics (you know the books you always feel you should read, but don't want to buy) well, i read HG Wells, War of The Worlds, and enjoyed it. Then spookily i got a new job based near woking. walking along some the streets named in the book was interesting. When the weather gets better, will take the bike to Horsell Common too.

Another excellent book. I really enjoyed 'The Help'. The first chapter is written with an accent and sometimes a bit difficult to read but it's not all like that so stick with it.

It's that time again and the sparrows are in and out of the hole in my wall (just under the bathroom window). The hole has been there for about 30 years (an old overflow pipe was removed) and each year I say I will have to fill the hole to prevent the weather getting into the walls but I can never bring myself to actually do it. It's great watching them go in and out with twigs, then feeding and eventually, the fledglings leaving the nest.

Great sign Squeaky...spring is on its way...what an amazing winter, we haven't really had one down here.
Our two mallards arrived yesterday on our pond in our garden, love to see them swimming about....although they do walk about and squash my plants.
Next month we change the clocks....light nights....that's so good to look forward to.

I don't think we're meant to solve that like a crossword clue. (Maybe Susie will confirm this - or not.) I can only assume that it's a bit like art. You either get it or you don't, and I just don't

They come every year, but we don't let them nest as they wouldn't be able to get the babies out...they just fly in, potter about and have a swim..... must admit they do look good in the garden.

Yes I know and it would be nice.....although our pond is a fair size we are quite a way from the nearest large expanse of water and I wouldn't like them to get run over.

I agree on that one Eddie...| don't really get those blobs of paint that supposedly have a meaning and always seem to cost a huge amount of money to buy. Although I have tried to paint some abstract art and actually it is quite difficult in a strange sort of way
