Poor Service (plumber left leaks)

Was the radiator a replacement or a new radiator where none was there previously?

It was a replacement but we also wanted it moving a few inches to the right

That makes that labour charge even worse- about 3 months ago paid one of the larger heating firms up here (not a national but locally they're known for being a bit pricey but job is always right, attention to detail is excellent, no shoddy bodges hidden under floor, no rubbish left behind) £200 inc VAT to supply & fit a rad where there had never been one (house tenanted, I didn't have time).

Oh wow, which company did you use? We were a bit dissappointed with ours, he didn't tell us how it was going to look and the pipework is showing. We're going to have to get a radiator cover to cover it. After I told him about the leaks for a second time he said he wouldn't come out free of charge because he had gone over budget on the job because of 'things that went wrong when installing'. He made me feel really bad about it.

why would you fit a radiator cover over a radiator ?, they are a complete con and keep all the heat inside the cover

Because we don't like the pipes exposed. We didn't realise they would be exposed, if we knew we wouldn't of had it moved. It's our choice to have a radiator cover anyway?

A pro would have hidden the pipes behind the rad, of course it is your choice, its your house, but the rad wont work properly with a cover over it

Ideally we didn't want a radiator cover but because he left the pipes showing we have opted to get one.

Not a lot plumber could have done about that left-hand bit of pipe- at least he's used copper rather than placcie and a big collection of Speedfit elbows.
If it's leaking he should have returned to fix it, end of- if he gave a toss he'd have checked for dryness before he left, tho sometimes with radiators it'll be fine cold then start to weep when it gets up to temperature. 'Tampered with pipes', 'expected it to leak'. Really?
