For posts in the last week, one does get actual times displayed. If one hovers one's cursor over the relative date (or time), the actual date and time pops up.
If you hover over them, what pops up is black on white, so that might be easier for you to read?I would be nice if they were darker, then perhaps some of the rest of us can actually see what it says
Fair enough - but that's about the best which is available at present; maybe DIYnot will change things for you. You say that you don't want to have to move your mouse "every time", but how often do you actually want/need to see the timestamp of a post (for me, it's rarely of any great importance)?

No-one, directly, but .... I suspect that it was the view (correct or not) of DIYnot that the majority would prefer the relative dates and times for recent posts, so the price paid for that was making those who wanted different to do the hovering. ... or, of course, it may be non-changeable behaviour of the new software. Only DIYnot can tell you.
