Purlin (9x3inch) with 6m clear span

I'd have to see some examples of bird mouth joints and wall plate joint to attempt this, as I'm no carpenter.
I'm actually a brickie..

The SE has been back and discussed the issues. Interestingly his verdict is that a steel L plate of only a couple of m length, bolted to midspan of each Purlin will be satisfactory. No need to strut it as it's so low anyway that the benefit would be minimal, and always best to keep load goin outward to external/party walls where possible, rather onto internal ones.
