Recommend me a 35mm to 42mm plastic pipe cutter

Thanks for the heads up.
That is just like the one I have that drives me mad. No way of knowing if it is just as bad
I also bought one of those a week ago, used it twice and it is going back. Impossible to get started, but mine does give a clean cut at least.

Good to know thanks. Getting started is also one of the problems I have with mine of a similar design, it just squashes the pipe - especially the bigger pipes. I usually squeeze and twist and then when it gets started it doesn't cut square.
I am going to try and sharpen the blade and also make the starting point more pointy

The getting started problem is having to pull the blades open by hand even before trying to cut the pipe, then trying to get the ratchet mechanism to engage, I think it might be missing something and not prepared to put up with it any more.

Yes that is exactly my problem on the 40mm pipe I have to use two hands to pull it apart and then its doesn't engage the next cog, its like the cog ratchets are too far apart.
