Replacing old thermostat with Hive.

If you remove the receiver from the backplate does the heating go off?
Did you blow the fuse in the spur at any point?
It all looks to be wired right out could be a faulty receiver. But out of the over a thousand I have fitted I've never had a faulty one out of the box.
It is a single channel receiver you have got isn't it?

Sorry, I had to walk away from it yesterday as it was getting on my nerves.

So I left it on last night for around an hour, and it did eventually turn off, and I was able to turn it on again from the thermostat, but once I tried to turn it off it was having none of it. I've got it back on now and just waiting to see if after a while it'll turn itself off.

Also, once I removed the received from the wall it did stay on.
 
your pic is not very clear, but it looks like you have a link from yellow (with red sleeve) going to Black but looks like a Blue wire also in there ? is this correct ?
