I had to report a new smart meter installation at the beginning of the year, wall bracket wasn't actually screwed in, rather a dod of silicone had been used on old plaster. That had eventually come loose so the meter was wobbling about on the pipework and one of the couplers had worked loose and it failed its TT.

Sadly the rush to make targets on smart meter installs was terrible, was never thought out properly and a new qualification appeared for people who had never worked on gas before , but could now swap out gas and electric meters, the standard of the majority of these people , not all, some were already qualified in their fields, but sadly some were under so much pressure from their employers that they had no clue whatsoever what they were doing and caused and are still causing absolute havoc in the industry, not the guys fault to be honest, undertrained, shoved in at the deep end with no back up, but a definate problem
