Should billionaires and multinationals pay fair tax?

So you do not want anyone to be renting - is that what you are saying.
Yes that's their ideal scenario, no PRS. At least we got a definitive answer from them.

I'm not completely sure what people are supposed to do who actually want to rent from the PRS but hey, let's not get bogged down with the detail.

Hi Mr letting agent. I'm moving into this area in a few months on a 24 month work contract. Can you tell me what rental properties you'll have available?

Sorry, we don't have a private rental sector in this town any longer. It's been abolished.

Oh right. That presents me with a slight challenge. I'm not moving here long enough to buy a property. And it's not right for me to take a socially rented property even if that's possible. What do you advise me to do?

Emmm, Mmmm, well you could sofa surf if you have any family or friends in the area? Or maybe buy a tent? And we have numerous B&B's you could live in for two years.

No, that's your answer.

One day perhaps you'll stop posting nonsense.
See post 731, I'm very confident that reflects what most of the anti PRS folk on here think, at least that poster had the balls to state it.

but you don't make a profit right?

or is your business profiteering from poor people who just want an affordable home to live in ?

Or recently split couples. Perhaps due to violence and you are forcing them to stay with an abusive partner.

I make profits from a range of folk. From as poor as pi$$ to comfortably wealthy. Are you saying I should refuse to work for the poor folk and allow them to get ripped off by a scamming builder?

Unlikely. He's your common or garden Rigsby. He only ever sees the value of houses from his point of view.
Deary deary me.

There are twins.

Twin A buys a property and treats it as a home (there, I've used the cuddly wuddly word 'home' to keep you happy) living there for 50 years until he pegs it. He loved living in his home all his life and cared not one bit as to its eventual value.

Twin B buys a property and enjoys living in it, however for him it's also an investment vehicle. Over the next 50 years he moved 5 times, each time to a more expensive property. He loved living in his 5 houses and cared about their appreciating value as this assisted him financially each time he climbed the property ladder.

Both the above are fine with me. I can see the value in either approach. Neither twin is right or wrong.
