Looking at those very blurry pictures it looks more like that resistor has smoke contamination from the chip below so it could be the resistor of the chip that has blown and with all that circuitry that just blows hot water out of tube there is no knowing what else will have blown. In all honesty I do not really think you are capable of repairing that and you are dealing with lethal voltages. On an 8 or 9 year old shower it's best to bite the bullet and pay a competent person to replace it.
