Thanks Salamander Pumps, appreciated. The hunting doesnt happen any more, thanks - and I suspect that there was a small pocket(s) of air between the pump and the shower head, which gets cleared with use. The main issue with the pumps has been the non-universal ones needing the shower head put on the floor to start after a year or two's use - and then the universal pump failing after 5 months. I have spoken to one of your people, very helpful, and it was deemed that the last pump was defective. The issue I have been trying to determine is what could be causing the repeated problems with the previous non-universal pumps and the loss of pressure coming out of the pump (off) versus coming out of the shower head, but no one seems to know and nor if this is related to the pump issues. The new universal pump is working at the moment, was fitted exactly to spec (as previous ones) re procedure, input temp etc - but I am trying to determine if there is anything else (thermostat cartridge in shower, multiple bends etc) which will cause another problem in the future....
