Galahad's links in the first post in this thread talks about "The governments desire….." and "The Tory’s plan….." indicates that NOTHING has been agreed or passed yet. It’s just another project fear of his. In any case, if "The Government" and "The Tory's" lose the next GE, good old Labour won’t go ahead with it. Will they?

Its going to the Lords - they have asked for it to be included.

Did you even read the article.

If the Lords don't stop it - it will become law.

About 14% of the population, so pretty much not everyone. Pretty much not mostly everyone and pretty much not even half of everyone or even a 1/4 of everyone.

This will include everyone who receives state pension as well as child benefit - that is way more than 14% of those over 18.

is that whataboutery from JohnD.. I think it is.

We don't need to guess the scope or side track - its well documented:

At the moment, almost 9 million claimants would be caught in the surveillance net, including:

5.8 million universal credit claimants
1.6 million employment and support allowance claimants
1.4 million pension credit claimants

so about 14% then - thought so.

Are you fkin thick to base that on the total population includes those who are under 18 and not working?

Yeah dumbo.

No. I’m looking at the pie chart that Statto, sorry, JohnD posted. if they’re that easy to find, why don’t you post them up? No cherry picking though.

Patients aged 65 to 69 - so called "baby boomers" - made up the single largest group of patientsa, with some 1.3 million admissions in 2015-16, according to figures released today by NHS Digital.

Ageing Britain: two-fifths of NHS budget is spent on over-65s

And its only going up.

to prove the money is not in a bank account - are you thick?

They need to find the culprits not those who are innocent you thick wad.

Right I would like to check your computer and phone for indecent images.

I get to decide what is indecent. So please hand over your computer and phone.

How do we know you don't have indecent images?

As a supposed lawyer you cannot see the problem with this?

Universal Credit can already ask for bank accounts and they do.

Shows what a good job they’re doing then.

I think that you think that I don’t think. I think you're wrong about that.
I think he's right. You've demonstrated your lack of thought in many of your actions, as explained recently elsewhere.

Yeah dumbo.
Thick mottie still thinks its means tested benefits only - it includes state pension as well as child benefit.

So pretty much everyone.
9M people
there are 45M adults in the UK. Slice it how you like - it's not pretty much everyone.

from your link. "This includes non-cash benefits such as NHS and education services."

The scope is not people in education or using NHS.
The population of England is about 56million, of which about 45million are over 18.
Assuming that only over 18s can claim any benefit, that makes about 80% of the population is over 18 and able to claim benefits.
If we extrapolate that proportion to UK figures, with UK population at about 67million, we get about 54million over 18 in UK.
We know how many people receive some sort of benefit:

How much is spent on benefits? In August 2023, 22.6 million people were claiming some form of benefits, in England, Scotland and Wales. In 2023-24, the government is expected to spend £265.5bn on paying pensions and benefits, just over half of which (£134.8bn) goes on benefits to pensioners
I'm sure you will see at a glance that far more than 14% of people over 18 in UK receive some sort of benefit. In fact it's about 41%.

Did you make a basic transposition error in your calculation?

I see you're still making basic maths errors.

If there are 10 goups of items, you can't add three of them together to get the total of all items.

Where did I say that? What is the proportion of that 'healthcare' section of your pie chart spent og the ageing population? If you don’t know, just say, don't insinuate. While you’re checking, can you tell us the percentage of that section that is spent on people that have entered the country, not paid in and entered the country as a potential refugee.
Blame the refugees when your argument is proven to be faulty.
Pathetic behaviour.
