Have you considered a whole house solar system? This could run your house and pump.

Worthwhile solar power for 6 months of the year? I have had 1,080kWh from mine already this year. Hardly worth it I guess.

What's the payback look like?

Cost £8k. Its saved me £500 on electric since October last year. Maybe 8 years? Depends on failures and what the cost of electricity will do.

15 panels. I don't get export payments so turn off the inverter once the battery is full. It's predicting 29kWh for today and tomorrow on solcast. No idea about July yet. So far today it's done 20.7kWh.

Why?
Doing that means anything that's in use in your house will then use the grid rather than the solar.
They are designed to be left on permanently.
