Storm in a teacup? (England kit)

Isn’t it a knock off version of the Genoese Flag?
England use to pay Genoa a tribute to be allowed to fly their flag and thereby be protected by their navy (which was way more powerful than ours).
Eventually the English decided to skip the payment and just fly under a “false flag”

Funnily enough, UKIP, Tory, and Police seem to have no issue with playing with the image

Don't care for the hypocritical condescending peer of the realm but that was funny about the welsh pussy cat
This is the altered Welsh flag

BBC News - Alternative US flag created in response to England kit changes

Nike said the shirt, launched ahead of Euro 2024, includes "a playful update to the cross of St George" which "appears on the collar to unite and inspire".

Did anyone find it playful or uniting? Did it inspire you?

Wasn't the UKIP flag purple and white with the union jack outline and a £ sign. Yes, the football one is a bit woke but its a football shirt. I'm more concerned at how well we will do. The FA must have had the power to turn down the design but Nikee are getting the flak

I don't really care as I'm not an England fan.
However I want to know why they removed the English flag and replaced it with this flag about nothing.

Even the 2012 kit that displayed Findlands flag had no reason behind it.

It inspired a massive turd out of me...

"Going on sale on 21 March, the "authentic" version is priced at £124.99 for adults and £119.99 for children, while a "stadium" version costs £84.99 and £64.99 for children."

I won't be buying one.

My guess would be. And it is only a guess ( I have no links) is that it's:
Inspired fûck all.
No one become playful the first time they see the colourful square.
It may have United gay and lesbian football fans (They could produce fans for the future.(It's possible))I
But I doubt a cross will Unite Muslims Chinese, non religious groups or heterosexuals.
