Had a similar shock landing at Heathrow to see snow all around in the first week of April - After travelling around the desert in Death Valley for a week it was a terrible jolt to the system.I remember returning to the UK on the 19th of May after working in Zimbabwe for two years, the lush greenery took me by surprise

March. Friends were living in San Jose and we took a month to drive around and smell the sights. Went through DV in a Chevy van that had quad speakers and top notch A/C...you really felt the difference when you got out into that heat. It just smacks you in the face. Even mad dogs would think twice before going walkabout in the Mojave Desert during the summer.Which month did you visit there?
