the Rwanda plan Mk2

Does anyone know what David Cameron means, here. Was it really the case that, before Brexit, we could just send them back to France?

Asked whether he would have pursued the policy while he was PM, Lord Cameron told ITV’s Peston show: “We had a totally different situation because (we) could return people directly to France.

“Now, I’d love that situation to be the case again, that’s the most sensible thing.

“People land on a beach in Kent, you take them straight back to France, you therefore break the model of the people smugglers.

“That’s not available at the moment. It’s simply not possible.”

Asked whether this was because of Brexit, he said: "Because of the situation we're in, because of the attitude of others and all the rest of it."

Dublin agreement.

I’m not sure how it worked in practice, certainly not many were returned by that mechanism

Of course back then not many people arrived here by non legal routes, mostly it was hiding in vehicles coming via Dover.

Do you not find it strange that across the entire legal profession in the UK over 10% are Human rights specialist.
2,000 members of the Human Rights Lawyers Association.

210,000 lawyers (solicitors I believe), 330,000 legal professionals apparently.

I'm not sure I trust your counting. I make that 1%.
